To import electricity from neighbouring countries
With purpose of helping consumers to avoid electricity cut-offs, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine had agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Energy & Coal Industry, and subsequently passed the relevant resolution on December 5, 2014, on temporary import of electricity, the press-office of the Ministry reports.
The resolution says that temporary import of electricity from neighbouring countries will be made by the state-owned enterprise Ukrinterenergo. In addition, the document provides that the price cannot exceed the weighted average price set in the previous month for thermal power plants, which is determined by the national Committee performing regulation in the sphere of energy supply and utility services.
Besides, the resolution states that Ukrinterenergo sells energy, which has been purchased in accordance with the procedure established by the law, to wholesale energy suppliers at the price that does not exceed the weighted average of prices in the previous month set for thermal power plants. The energy tariff is determined by the National Commission that ensures government regulation in the sphere of energy supply and utility services.
Moreover, the relevant resolution recommends the Commission to define the algorithm of money distribution in the wholesale electricity market of Ukraine, having ensured that all settlements are made in full.
