Minister of the Interior of the FRG Thomas de Maiziere increased pressure on EU countries, having emphasized that only two weeks are left for the regulation of migration crisis as per Angela Merkel’s preferred scenario. According to him, next two weeks will have crucial importance. All the countries agree with that the protection of EU external border with Turkey has the priority. This means the attraction of the European border guard Frontex and NATO, and this also means that refugees will be returned to Turkey, the minister noted.
“Within next two weeks it will become clear how effective such option is. Otherwise, it will be inevitably required to take other measures, for examples, to provide protection of Schengen area on other border”, de Maiziere said during the interview to the public and legal TV channel ARD in the evening on Sunday, February 21.
The Head of German Ministry of the Interior also sharply criticized Austria.
