US President Donald Trump signed the executive order on supporting US workers and commodities, RIA News reports.
The document called “Buy America, hire American” should encourage domestic production. In particular, the authorities intend to regulate the issuance of visas to foreigners, in order “to protect American workers”.
The order stipulates that the Trade Secretary “assesses the effect” from all trade agreements, in which the USA participates. Any document, not meeting “the standards of President Trump” and the principles of “justice and reciprocity”, is subject to revision.
Previously, the White House noted that the current trade agreements negatively affected the domestic production and unemployment situation. Thus, for example, the documents stipulate the “national regime” for foreign suppliers in exchange for “response access” to the markets of these countries.
While delivering speech in Wisconsin, Trump promised to investigate each trade deal, which did harm to US workers. During his pre-election campaign, he sharply criticized the North American Free Trade Area (USA, Canada and Mexico), promising to make the agreement “fairer”.
